Well it all started out pretty simple, I was not a paying member and was given a free trial, so I logged in. Somebody wrote to me and he introduced himself and stated that he wants to learn about our culture. However, it was Christmas time and he told me that he is visiting his kids and will talk when he comes back. I told him that I am not a paying member and I was just given a seven day trial so he could email me at my email address. To my surprise, he e-mailed me and we started sending emails back and fourth, not waiting for him to come back after Christmas. He started introducing himself to me. I smiled to myself and thought, I’ll try this good looking older guy. We chatted everyday, even if I was in the office on Google. We got along fine together by chatting and emailing for almost a year until he decided to visit me in the Philippines with his son. We got to know each other well and we decided to get married. He arrived in the Philippines on November 28, 2006 and we got married on Dec 2, 2006. He returned to Canada on Dec 30, 2006. I tried to apply as a tourist, but I was denied, so he had to come back to the Philippines so we can be together. We went to Kuala Lumpur and Thailand to have our second honeymoon. We have been together for two months and when we came back to the Philippines, we applied for a permanent residence. And after six months, I was approved and here I am now in Canada with my husband. To everyone that knew me on this site, I wish you all well and trust me, you won't know until it hits you; love is sneaky that way. This site was a blast just for the positive environment and friendship it offered. Thank you Canadian Personals!

We knew before meeting that we'd met our soul's desire.
I have been on this site on and off for almost 7 years. Thankfully I had patience knowing I would meet the man of my dreams "someday" if I just happily went about everyday life enjoying the many hobbies I have: being single for a couple years, getting to know me, and when the time was just right, as everyone always told me, he would come into my life...Then I met him on Canadian Personals. We Chatted on IM for only one evening, then started with phone calls, spending many hours talking with each other since we lived 10 hours away across a huge Great Lake. We are learning many things about each other as well as spent a great weekend together camping; our first time meeting :) Then 2 weeks later, I went up to his place and spent over a week learning more and falling in love beyond words. There is soooo much to learn :)
It's incredible how much we have in common and conversation just never ends. We knew before even meeting in person that we'd met our souls desire.
From the moment I read his first email to me on CP and after reading his profile, I was completely amazed to meet a man with such qualities. We "just" know we are going to share the rest of our lives together...making a family and building a life, making so many of our dreams come true.
Never give up on meeting a special person on a singles site. If they are willing to spend the time learning about you and vice versa, they are surely interested in "you". There's a lot of good folks out there hoping they'll meet someone to spend time with and it could possibly sweep you off your feet to a life filled with many positive and happy ventures with a partner :)
Thank you CP, for being a safe and fun site to spend so many years meeting new friends and at last, meeting my soul mate.

I could not get her out of my mind...
My story is of a wonderful woman whom I have met through Canadian Personals. I read her profile in February of this year, not aware that she was not able to read the wonderful, sincere thoughts I had for her, from her profile. Her profile was the start with all the qualities that I had been looking for in a life partner. Nancy did eventually read her in-box many months later and responded quickly, but I knew that I had to meet this "Jewel in the wilderness. I could not get her out of my mind for all the right reasons. Last week we did four days of romance, conversation, cooking on an island, and she won my heart over again. I thank this site, for if not here, my search would have been slower, but I knew I would meet her in life somewhere. We are special together and are planning many future days to come.

Dreams can come true!
We corresponded as friends for two years after meeting each other here on CP. We cheered each other on as we each looked for the "right one" to connect with in the cyber world; since I believed barriers such as location and common sense precluded us from being more than friends.
Eventually we met in real life and the conversation continued. This time with the added benefit of all the senses and how nice those extra senses are. Wowsers!
Being in love is great and having someone love you back is even nicer! We are in love and very much amazed and grateful to have found each other.
If we have any advice to give, it's to get out from behind those computers and arrange some meetings. If there is nobody to meet in your area, plan a meeting elsewhere. "Fiver" is still kicking himself that he didn't arrange to meet in the middle and shorten this process by two years. He just couldn't tell how wonderful I was from the pictures. You really do have to meet me to get the full benefit of my charm. lol!
The folks on CP are excellent people and I have made some true friends here. Meanwhile, we want to say thanks CP for helping us find each other. Dreams can come true!

To add to our story....
Shortly after I last wrote to you, John and I decided that there was no question left in our minds and that we both feel the same ~ incredibly grateful to have found each other at this point in our lives. How wonderful...and amazing! He popped the question and what could I say? Apparently yes... because shortly thereafter I found myself standing in the Holy Cow restaurant (perfect place!!) ........saying "I do!"
And I have pictures to prove it! Its a second marriage for both of us and we both wondered if we would ever find the right one. It's hard to believe the right person might be out there sometimes. This time we hope we have learned from the past and have promised to remind each other to hold each other first and last, forgive quickly, laugh often, and be grateful that we are so blessed in finding each other.
John is funny, interesting, challenging, sensitive, generous of spirit and heart, and intelligent. (He's also tall, handsome, and wealthy beyond my wildest dreams....ok ... two out of three is not bad...you get to guess which two!) His only drawbacks are that he brings me coffee in bed in the mornings, likes to surprise me with a kiss on that spot at the back of my neck (you know the one!) and tells me regularly he thinks I am incredibly beautiful...sigh...but then I guess he can't be perfect....insane perhaps, but I'll keep him until the men with hooks show up. (If they are coming for me, he has promised to hide me...what more can a girl ask for?)
Well enough of my foolishness, thank you once again. Remember when you least expect it, love takes us by surprise!

I meet Florentin in April of 2007 on Canadian Personals. He lives in Edmonton and me in Tinaquillo, Venezuela, South America. I thought that it would be impossible to meet him in life, but it was possible. In August, I went to Edmonton and we consolidated our relationship and last December we married. Well it all started out pretty simple, I was a member and she joined to learn more about Canada as she was set to travel over on a one year working holiday from Australia. I was sent as a match to her and she thought some of what I had written was funny, so she sent me a smile and I sent a smile back. Then we started sending emails back and forth until she left on her trip and then when she got to my part of the country we had to meet, seeing as we had got along so well by email and chat. Our first date went from an early afternoon coffee date, into dinner, and then after dinner, coffee followed up by finally calling it a night at 11 p.m. We spent pretty much every weekend together for the rest of that year. We are currently in the mother of all long distance relationships (she is living in Australia and me here right now), but we are trying to get my migration to Australia to go through so that we can live together forever. Where else would I have found such a perfect match?
I met quietgirlnextdoor on this site back in January of 2003. A week later we met at a coffee shop and spent 6 hours talking over 1 cup of hot chocolate. Now 5 years later, we are married and expecting a child any day now! I'm as surprised as anybody that this worked, but where else would I have found such a perfect match? Certainly not in bars! I have found a woman that has the same morals, values, beliefs, and desires that I have. I'm amazed that she even exists, but she does and I love her with all my heart!

We are "head-over-heels" in love with each other
When I joined Canadian Personals in July, I began by sending out a few smiles.....Marsbar responded and we continued emailing throughout the summer. In October, we decided to get together and meet....I drove several hundred kilometers to meet him. We hit it off right away and since then we have spent all the time possible together. We are "head-over-heels" in love with each other and want to spend the rest of our lives together....so it does happen! I am forever in CP's debt for finding me someone who is my true soulmate, best friend, and lover.
